Meet The Team

With over 20 years of experience, Kara is a passionate and dedicated audiologist. She holds a Bachelor of Science from UCT and a Master's degree from UKZN, which focussed on the challenges South African audiologists face. Kara further advanced her expertise with a clinical doctorate in audiology from ATSU University, Arizona in 2016. In 2011, Kara co-founded Hoffman Audiology, where she serves as Director. Her role encompasses leadership of the team, clinical work with patients, additional training to expand the rest of the team, and managerial roles within the business. Her passion remains with her patients, the challenges and successes in helping each person with their unique challenges. As the Executive Chair of the Independent Connected Audiology Network (iCAN), a non-profit company representing independent audiologists in South Africa, Kara demonstrates her commitment to advancing the field, advocating and educating the public on hearing healthcare matters and uplifting colleagues in the field with upskilling and summit opportunities. Kara's passion for audiology extends beyond the clinic. She finds joy in witnessing positive patient results, especially seeing babies learn to talk and hear. Her dedication to changing lives and creating a lasting legacy in audiology is evident in her work and leadership. When she's not changing lives through better hearing, Kara is a devoted mother of three and wife to Kenny, who also happens to be Hoffman Audiology's operations manager. The family embraces a natural lifestyle, enjoying outdoor activities and healthy living.
